On a visit last fall, our team saw how the Chirinos co-op works with a select group of farmers to test new agronomic practices. Joel Silva is one of them. A young farmer committed to staying in the region, Joel was an early participant in trials for regenerative organic fertilizer. Thanks to efforts like his, the co-op now produces enough to supply neighboring farms.

This lot features an anaerobic processing method, chosen to highlight the innovative work of producers like Joel.

Utopian was founded more than a decade ago by two cousins: one a craft coffee aficionado and the other, a backpacking vagabond who fell in love with coffee-producing countries, cultures, and people.
